My issue with avoiding the refernce card is by the time you're at $1100, you should try to find a cheaper model of the 4080 close to $1200 for DLSS and ray tracing.
Anyone have experience ordering graphics card releases with B&H Photo? I ordered a 7900 XTX there, says backordered with no estimated shipping date, but I got an order confirmation.
Basically is you really dont use RT saves $300 and buy a 7900xtx. If you do buy a 4080.
The fact we can get over 100fps in 4K ultra is great for gamers. I remember the game settings videos to get 60 at 4k. At least we are getting more performance even if GPUs are overpriced IMO.
The Hog Rider card is unlocked from the Spell Valley (Arena 5). He is a quick building-targeting, melee troop with moderately high hitpoints and damage. He appears just like his Clash of Clans counterpart; a man with brown eyebrows, a beard, a mohawk, and a golden body piercing in his left ear who is riding a hog. A Hog Rider card costs 4 Elixir to deploy.
Strategy
His fast move speed can boost forward mini tanks like an Ice Golem in a push. At the same time, he can also function as a tank for lower hitpoint troops such as Goblins as he still has a fair amount of health. Most cheap swarms complement the Hog Rider well, as they are nearly as fast as him and usually force more than one card out of the opponent's hand.
The Hog Rider struggles with swarms, as they can damage him down and defeat him quickly while obstructing his path. Barbarians in particular can fully counter him without very strict timing on the defender's part, though be wary of spells.
A Hunter can kill the Hog Rider in 2 hits if placed right on top of it. However, if you place something in front of the Hog Rider, the Hunter's splash will damage the Hog Rider and hit the card in front of it more.
A good placement and timing with Guards and The Log will fully counter the Hog Rider, canceling all Hog hits.
The Hog Rider in conjunction with the Freeze can surprise the opponent and allow the Hog Rider to deal much more damage than anticipated, especially if the opponent's go-to counter is a swarm, or swarms are their only effective counter to him. Skeletons and Bats will immediately be defeated by the spell, while Spear Goblins, Goblins, and Minions will be at low enough health to be defeated by a follow up Zap or Giant snowballThe Hog Rider card is unlocked from the Spell Valley (Arena 5). Thank you and your team for the awesome work you are doing! Building my own PCs since the early 90s and I really appreciate all the details you are going into. Cheers from Germany!
Here in Australia some of the PC stores are advertising the 7900 XTX at $1789.00. So I'm still on the fence as my EVGA 1080 Ti still plays most of my games at 4K high giving me between 48 – 60 FPS. Currently playing A Plague Tale: Requiem, State Of Decay 2 and Red Dead Redemption 2.
8k….when we've had actually viable 4k gaming for a whole generation now. And most people are still gaming in 1080p (1440p people, do it!) /facepalm
Thinking I go full Team Red this time around, about to build a new machine when the new X3D chips drop during/after CES. Current machine is a 1st Gen Threadripper (feels bad, man). It will become a home server where it should perform beautifully.
Will put a waterblock on whatever card I get so the air cooler is just garbage for me anyway, but does look like I should wait for better boards.
So, Hardware Unboxed says the RX 7900 XTX is garbage and you should spend the extra $200 and get the 4080 Steve suggests getting the 7900….. I'm confused
Do you think NVIDIA will drop prices soon? Post below!

Besides the price, the coil whine is something that’s really a dealbreaker. Hopefully it’s specific to this card rather than the model
Can't wait to hear how this high end GPU is terrible at being a cheap, bang for your buck solution

From Denmark,
Ha ha, here in Denmark a RX 7900 XTX costs a whopping 1700$. = 12,000 Danish kroner
man, who create this clickbait probably slept some time when ray tracing was born till today

Buy the new 4080 FUH edition 🤣

Ehh, my 3070 laptop will get me what I need. Not worth upgrading for now, all my needs are met.
That's probably the first time that anybody's seen under that mattress in years.
Nvidia is banking on people giving a shit about ray tracing
that moment when the 4080 is such a good deal at its MSRP it now costs over $1,400 if you want to buy one now.
This guy walks around in the rain with his GPU, meanwhile my parts die when I wear wool socks
i'm waiting amd radeon XX8000XXX
