Learn how to make a delicious dip with Bob’s Red Mill Chana Dal! This recipe is vegetarian, vegan, dairy-free and high in fiber. Chana dal is the split kernel of a variety of garbanzo bean (or chickpea) known as the desi chickpea or bengal gram. Chana dal is a mainstay of traditional Indian cuisine, and this dip gets a kick from garam masala, a flavorful Indian spice blend. The bean dip recipe is quick, easy and tasty – a bit like hummus, but firmer and with a big flavor from the herbs and spices. It is also nutritious thanks to the chana dal, which is remarkably high in fiber and a good source of vitamins and minerals such as iron, folate, zinc and potassium.
