In a case of hit-and-run like the Delhi car horror, a delivery agent died after a car rammed his two-wheeler and dragged him for about 500 meters in Noida on Sunday.
Kaushal, who worked at Swiggy, was out making a delivery on New Year’s Eve when a car hit his two-wheeler near a flyover in Noida Sector 14, police said.
Witnesses said the driver stopped the vehicle near a temple, about 500 meters from the accident site, and fled the scene after Kaushal’s body fell.
Kaushal’s brother Amit called him at 1 am on Sunday when a passerby received the call and reported the accident.
A case has been registered based on the complaint lodged by Amit and investigation is on, officials said.
“We are scanning the CCTVs installed in the area to trace the accused,” an official said.
The accident happened hours after a 20-year-old woman was hit by a car and dragged for about 13 km in Delhi.
Anjali Singh’s naked body was later found on the road with multiple injuries sending shockwaves across the country in the New Year.
The car was traveling from Sultanpuri to Jonti village near Kanjhapura, dragging his clothes when the car collided with his scooter, where a man eventually saw his hand sticking out from under the car.
The five men, who admitted to being drunk at the time of the accident, were arrested and charged with “culpable homicide not amounting to murder”, reckless driving and causing death by negligence.
