Qatar vs Ecuador FIFA World Cup 2022 Live: Ener Valencia scored twice in the first half to give Ecuador a 2-0 lead at the break against Qatar in their FIFA World Cup opener at the Al Bayet Stadium in Al Khol. Valencia broke the deadlock in the 16th minute after converting a penalty which they won. The 33-year-old then headed in Angelo Preciado’s cross to make it 2-0 on the half-hour mark. Valencia, who had a goal disallowed in the first three minutes, is the oldest player to score in a World Cup opener. Ecuador is 44th in the FIFA rankings and hosts Qatar are 50th. (Live Matchcentre)
