Ms Chadha today publicly apologized after deleting the controversial tweet. He has faced massive backlash for comments mocking the army commander’s statement about taking back Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK) in the context of the 2020 Galwan clash with Chinese troops.
Ms Chadha had earlier tweeted following Northern Army Commander Lt Gen Upendra Dwivedi’s statement that the Army was “always ready” and “will give their befitting reply” to any government orders to take back parts of Pakistan’s illegally occupied Kashmir.
Sharing the commander’s statement, Ms Chadha wrote on Twitter, “Galwan Hi said.”
20 Indian soldiers lost their lives in a clash with Chinese troops in Galwan Valley. According to reports, about 40 Chinese soldiers were killed or wounded.
In her apology post, Ms Chadha said her grandfather, a “lieutenant colonel”, took a bullet in the leg in the Sino-Indian war. “My maternal uncle was a paratrooper. It’s in my blood. When a son is martyred or injured while saving a country like us, the whole family is affected and I know personally how it feels. It’s an emotional thing. For me, ” he said.

“While it could never have been my intention, if the 3 words that have been dragged into a controversy offend or offend anyone, I apologize and also say that it would grieve me if my words unintentionally evoked such feelings. My brothers in the military (Army) of which my own Nanaji was an illustrious part,” said Ms in her apologetic tweet.
