Mahsa Amini wasn’t killed: Iran minister on death of 22-year-old in custody


The minister blamed the West for creating a “baseless and false atmosphere” about the protests in Iran and leading to tension and chaos in his country.

By India Today Web Desk: Mahsa Amini was not killed, Iran’s Deputy Foreign Minister Ali Bakeri has claimed, defending his government after the 22-year-old’s death in police custody in September this year, sparking widespread protests in the country and around the world. “He’s dead,” he added. Bakeri is currently in India as part of political talks between the countries.

The minister blamed the West for creating a “baseless and false atmosphere” about the protests in Iran and leading to tension and chaos in his country.

“Mahsa Amini was not killed, she is dead. We have seen the atmosphere created by some Western media on developments in Iran. This atmosphere is baseless and false. We see the rights of the Iranian nation being violated by these Western powers,” he told news agency ANI. .

“Western powers do not speak about the people of Afghanistan, Palestine or Yemen. They do not condemn or condemn these actions. Who are the real murderers of these people?” Minister Dr.

Iran has witnessed one of the biggest controversies in recent history following the death of Amini, who was detained by “morality police” on September 13 for allegedly violating the country’s strict and mandatory hijab law.

Iran has also reported the death of a large number of security personnel since the protests, clinging to Islamic State.
