Sebastian Vettel, one of Formula One’s greatest ever athletes, bid farewell to the sport at the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix on Sunday. Driving an Aston Martin, Vettel finished 10th on the leaderboard. While there’s no denying the German would have liked to claim a podium spot, he had a charismatic smile on his face as he drew the curtain on his illustrious career. At the end of the race, Vettel served ‘doughnuts’ to the mesmerizing fans.

Known as the ‘baby-faced killer’ in his early days in Formula 1, Vettel has left a huge legacy, winning four consecutive Drivers’ Championship titles (from 2010 to 2013).
“It was difficult for me to make the decision and I spent a lot of time thinking about it,” Vettel said before his final race.
“At the end of the year, I want to take some more time to reflect on what I will focus on next.
“It is very clear to me that, as a father, I want to spend more time with my family, but today is not about saying goodbye. Rather, it is about thanking – everyone – not least the fans, without whose emotional support F1 exists. Can’t.”
For the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix, it was Max Verstappen who finished on top of the podium, earning his record-extending 15th win of the season.
